This edgy sedan will transform your expectations with its all-around impressive capabilities and head-turning style. At our dealership, you can check out the 2021 Kia K5 in North Huntingdon in person to appreciate its innovative, aerodynamic design. The exciting flow from front to rear progresses without interruptions. At the same time, a long personality line that starts at the LED headlights arches through the side doors and extends to the taillights. The headlights have an orange, lightning-style ribbon underscoring three traditional bulbs. These are integrated over a black, bowtie-style grille and placed over an encompassing air vent. At the rear, the integrated spoiler sits over a sectioned light bar that spans across the entire length of the vehicle. The look is completed by dual exhaust tips and a roof-mounted antenna.
The full trim line of the K5 for 2021 is immaculately designed to showcase a modern, pleasing interior. Cloth or premium seats are available across the trim line, and these are combined with wood accents and a linear theme throughout the dashboard. The central feature in the dashboard is a 10.25-inch color display screen. It provides full control over technologies like a navigation system, UVO Connect, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and other gear. The cabin’s climate is controlled via knobs and buttons mounted on a digital display screen. Another digital display screen sits behind the heated steering wheel between two analog gauges. Additional interior features could include a panoramic moonroof, five USB ports, wireless device charging, mounted functions on the steering wheel, a Bose sound system and other gear.
The first four trim levels have comparable performance capabilities with similar mechanical features. These include an electronic parking brake, front and rear ventilated disc brakes, drive mode select, anti-locking brakes, multi-link rear and front MacPherson strut suspension equipment and front-wheel drive. The top trim level is the 2021 K5 GT. It stands apart with its own powertrain and many unique mechanical features. It differs from the first four trims with larger disc brakes, GT brake calipers, available active sound design, a sport-tuned suspension system and a few other optional or available features.
Likewise, the four initial trim levels pull 180 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbo engine. This is combined with an eight-speed auto transmission. The GT trim level for 2021 receives 290 horsepower from its four-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine. This powertrain is connected to a dual-clutch eight-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters.
While the 2021 K5 is designed with performance in mind, it also is engineered to protect you and your passengers on the road. Its standard safety suite for all five trims includes a tire pressure monitor, hill assist control, child safety items, ABS, traction and stability control, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection, lane following assist, lane keeping assist and other advanced features. Available equipment in some or all trim levels are cyclist detection, smart cruise control, reverse parking assistance and a few more items.
